Under-eye bags

Have you ever seen early in the morning a baggy-eyed, not-altogether-attractive stranger, when you see yourself in the mirror? Bags are caused when fluid collects in the skin under the eyes, it happens primarily when you lie flat for long periods, such as when you sleep at night.
The prone position redistributes the fluids toward your legs. At night, fluids are spread equally throughout the body, including the skin under your eyes, they can also can result from allergies and from irritating chemicals.

Here are some ideas of what you can do:
-Try putting a cool, wet tea bag on each eye for 15 minutes. The tannin in tea is an astringent, causing skin to tighten.

-Place thinly sliced cucumbers over each eye and let them sit for 15 minutes. The cool moisture of cucumbers helps relieve the swelling.

- Avoid products containing propylene glycol and the fragrances cinnamyl alcohol and cinnamaldehyde.

- Certain soaps, especially antibacterial ones, may cause irritation, try switching to a more organic brand to see if bags under your eyes disappear.

- Wash your face with plain water and use plain petroleum jelly to moisturize your face.

- If you eat very salty meals, it makes your body retain more water, this can cause fluid to collect under the skin beneath your eyes.
