Homemade Insect repellent


  • Spring is here and with it comes friendly bugs and not so friendly ones like spiderscentipedes, mosquitoes.
  • Here are 3 easy DIY recipes which are all natural and do not include any toxic chemicals.
  • To top it off they smell good and do not cost a fortune.
  • Eucalyptus lemon option #1:
  • In a BPA-free spray bottle mix
  • 2 cups of water
  • 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 20 drops of citronella essential oil
  • 5 drops of lemon essential oil
  • Shake
  • Spray around you an on yourself
  • Basil lemon option #2:
  • In a BPA-free spray bottle mix
  • 2 cups of water
  • 10 drops basil essential oil
  • 20 drops of citronella essential oil
  • 5 drops of lemon essential oil
  • Shake
  • Spray around you an on yourself
  • Geranium lavender option #3:
  • In a BPA-free spray bottle mix
  • 2 cups of water
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 20 drops of citronella essential oil
  • 5 drops of geranium essential oil
  • Shake

  1. Thanks for this great DIY recipes for homemade insect repellents. These will come in useful in my next camping trip. I do buy commercial ones but lately, I've been reading a lot of bad reviews about DEET and chemical-laden repellents. It's better that I made my own so I can save money and at the same time, know what's contained in my repellents. I love citronella and lavender oil.
